The ERT Vision sees a competitive Europe in 2025. This vision can only be attained if policies at all levels of decision-making in the European Union follow a coherent strategy. Success will only be ensured if specific policy action is consistent with the overall strategic direction.
The ERT vision provides some ideas for the overall policy direction until 2025, and gives recommendations on specific policy action for the period until 2015. By then, the most appropriate policy actions will depend on global circumstances that cannot be foreseen today. The overall policy direction, however, can be expected to remain appropriate in guiding us towards achievement of the vision by 2025.
